DSNI seeks to hire a dynamic and creative organizer who will serve as the primary liaison to parents of children who attend our neighborhood schools and parents who live in the neighborhood with Pre-K and school-aged children.
The Senior Education Organizer will facilitate collaboration between parents, youth, community leaders, schools, and organizations; coordinate neighborhood events; and strategically partner with the Education Manager around supporting neighborhood schools. S/he will mobilize groups around advocacy for changes that support and sustain high quality schools for students and families in the Dudley Village Campus (areas between Grove Hall, Dudley Street, Uphams Corner, and Dudley Square).
The ideal candidate will be experienced in building social capital and political power; be guided by principles of parent leadership; have concrete organizing experience; and be a highly organized self-starter with a strong skill set in working effectively with a variety of stakeholders. The position reports to the Boston Promise Initiative Director.
Salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000 annually, depending on experience. DSNI offers a comprehensive benefits package.
