In the midst of a search for an Executive Director, DSNI’s Board has voted to name Denise D. Barros as new interim Executive Director. Denise has earned a Bachelors and a Masters of Social Work degree from Wheelock College and Boston University, respectively, and brings over 20 years of non-profit experience leading outcome-based programs for Gang Peace, Dorchester CARES, and Cape Verdean Community UNIDO (CVC UNIDO), where she was the first Executive Director. Denise previously worked at DSNI as the Director of Youth Leadership and Development.
Denise has a genuine love for dynamic workshop facilitation and hands-on learning opportunities for youth, families, and staff. “I'm extremely excited about coming back to DSNI to uplift its legacy of community empowerment and control," said Denise D. Barros. "Especially as we craft a new era of youth voice and leadership."
